To succesfully complete this course students must know how to:

Bias a BJT transistor in the common emitter configuration.
Bias a differential amplifier for given emitter currents and collector voltages.
Design a common emitter amplifier for a given input resistance and voltage gain.
Design a differential amplifier for a given input resistance and voltage gain.
Estimate the upper 3dB frequency of a common emitter and a comomon base amplifiers.
Calculate the input resistance, gain, and 3dB frequency of a common emitter amplifier with current-series and voltage-parallel negative feedback.
Graphically sketch and design a negative feedback amplifier for a given phase margin.
Design class-A and class-B output stages for a given output power and for given transistor limitations.
Find a Butterworth low-pass transfer function for any order, cutoff frequency, and passband attenuation level.
Design component values of a filter circuit (active or passive) given the filter transfer function.
Understand the operation of a Schmitt trigger.
Design a Schmitt trigger based RC oscillator for a specific frequency and outptut magnitude.
Understand the meaning of the Q-factor of an LC resonator.
